FSBN Shortlist

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Education through the Federal Scholarship Board offers local scholarships to Nigerian undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students.

The shortlisting for the FSBN scholarship CBT examination starts on 27th September 2024.

If you were shortlisted, it means you met the requirements and were selected among many others.

You will be invited through text message to come and write the exam.

This program recognizes and reward academic excellence by providing financial help to students who otherwise could not pay for their higher education.

After your scholarship application, you’ll be shortlisted for the exam.

After the exam, another shortlisting will follow for those who passed the exam.

The disbursement of the money depends on when the verification exercise is completed.

It is after the verification that the bursary is paid.

FSBN Scholarship Requirements

Here are the criteria for selecting the list of successful candidates for the FSBN scholarship:

  • Be a citizen of Nigeria.
  • Have a CGPA of 4.0 and above.
  • Have a JAMB score of 200 and above.
  • School in a reputable tertiary institution.
  • Score at least 75% in the already written Federal Government Scholarship Examination.
  • Upload clear documents during the application.
  • Use valid email address and phone number while applying for the scholarship.

FSBN Scholarship Exam Date 2024

The FSBN scholarship exam is scheduled to hold on 12th October 2024.

If you put in your application number online to check the exam date and it showed you a different candidate from last year, it is because the screening schedule is not yet out.

If it is implying “no records found”, it means you were not shortlisted for the examination.

Your CGPA must be 4.0 to be eligible.

Go for the exam only if it is close to your location.

Federal Government Scholarship Exam

Here are the steps to check the exam date, time, and venue for the FSBN scholarship:

  • Visit the Federal Government Scholarship Portal.
  • Enter your phone number or the last 6 digits of your applicant number.
  • Click on Check.
  • Print your examination slip.

CBT Exam Instructions

For the CBT, you are expected to answer 100 questions in 90 minutes and each session bears about 50 questions.

Come to the CBT venue with a printout of your school or JAMB admission letter and CBT slip showing venue and time of the exam.

It is better to be at your venue an hour before the exam.

You may not write yours differently if you arrive late.

  • North-East: Yola, Gombe
  • North-Central FCT: Bwari, Ilorin
  • South-West: Ibadan, Akure
  • South-South: Asaba, Port Harcourt
  • South-East: Enugu, Owerri

FSBN Scholarship Exam Format

These are the subject combinations for the Federal Government Scholarship:

  • Analogy
  • Arithmetic
  • Current Affairs
  • English Language
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Quantitative Reasoning
  • Verbal Reasoning

FSBN Result Checker

FSBN does not release examination results online.

Check with your university registrar for the FSBN scholarship list.

FSBN scholarship shortlisted candidates will be notified after the application process.

Applicants who get shortlisted get paid the sum of ₦250,000 per year.

  1. The shortlisting was to start on 29th September and this is 2nd Oct. my portal is showing another candidate’s information of last year.
    Do I still have hope to be shortlisted for the exams.

  2. For those of you still wondering why your portal is showing other people’s detail when checking for examination date and Venue. It is because the 2023 batch have not yet been shortlisted for the exams.
    As written in this article above shortlisting of students for the exams starts on 29th September, so from that date you can be checking for your venue.
    I think the exams will take place between October or November.

    1. well, whenever I type in my registration number, I see someone else’s information. Again, the information shows an exam date of 2022 and not 2023

  3. This is neither genius nor an updated information, since the portal was showing the information of the last year candidates.
