WAEC Original Result

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) original result is a document that contains the results of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

It is issued to candidates who have successfully completed the examination.

The document contains the candidate’s name, registration number, subject grades, and overall performance.

The WAEC original result is important for candidates who are applying for admission to tertiary institutions, employment and can also verify the academic qualifications of candidates.

Check the status of your results online or contact the WAEC office in your state.

If you lose your WAEC original result, apply for a duplicate copy.

Here are the steps to check your WAEC original result online:

  • Go to the WAEC online result checker.
  • Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number.
  • Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year, e.g., 2024.
  • Select the Type of Examination.
  • Enter the e-PIN Voucher Number.
  • Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your e-PIN.
  • Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up.

WAEC e-PIN

The e-PIN stands for Electronic Personal Identification Number.

In WAECDIRECT, it is a unique 10-digit or 12-digit number that is required to access the service.

The service enables direct access to a candidate’s results via multiple channels.

The e-PIN is found in a valid WAEC Voucher.

An electronic PIN may be purchased at the national office of WAEC and at any of its zonal and branch offices across Nigeria.

It may become available at any other outlets designated by WAEC.

The reviewed price for the e-PIN is currently ₦1,500.

You may check your result up to a maximum of 5 (five) times with the use of 1 (one) e-PIN.

In order to check further after exhausting the allowed 5 (five) times, purchase another e-PIN which will entitle you to another 5 (five) result checks.

WAEC Digital Certificate

The WAEC Digital Certificate is an online platform that allows you to access, share, request confirmation, recover candidate number, and confirm the WAEC certificate on your web and mobile device.

It allows you to instantly access, share, request confirmation, and confirm your WAEC certificate with ease while ensuring the full privacy of personal data.

Click ‘Create Account’ on the home page of the WAEC Digital Certificate platform and fill in your information to create your account.

Once activated, you can proceed to accessing, sharing, and confirming the WAEC certificate.

All withheld certificates cannot be accessed or confirmed on this platform.

You will be charged for any service request on the WAEC Digital Certificate platform, whether successful or unsuccessful.

You will only be billed when accessing, sharing, recovering a candidate number, or confirming a certificate.

it will cost ₦7,500 for new and old candidates to assess the platform, ₦3,500 to share and ₦5,000 for certificate confirmation to eliminate fraud and send fakers out of the market.

Ensure you carefully input the correct details used in registering for the examination.

WAEC Certificate Request Portal

Private candidates can now make request online for their certificates.

Requested certificate will be delivered to any WAEC office of choice.

Candidates would be required to provide a valid means of identification at the designated pickup location (WAEC office).

Certificate processing may take 10 to 30 days.

You can pay with your card online.

Payments made offline may not be processed.

Original WAEC Certificate Collection

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) issues certificates to candidates who have successfully completed the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

If you wrote WASSCE as a school candidate, collect your certificate from your school.

WAEC will have dispatched your certificate to your school within a year of the examination.

If you wrote WASSCE as a private candidate, make a request online and collect your certificate from any WAEC office nationwide.

You will need to present an application letter, a sworn affidavit from the High Court, the online result print-out, one passport-size photograph, a photo card, and an identity card.

Penalties for Late Collection of WAEC Certificate

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) charges a custody fee for each candidate whose certificate has been kept in their care for over four years.

The fee varies depending on how long the certificate has been kept, as shown in the table below:

10 to 14 ₦13,500
15 to 19 ₦18,500
20 years and above ₦23,500

The custody fee is payable when you collect your certificate from WAEC.

If you do not collect your certificate within four years of it being issued, you will be charged a custody fee.

The amount of the fee will increase the longer you delay collecting your certificate.

It is therefore in your best interest to collect your WAEC certificate as soon as possible to avoid having to pay a custody fee.

After retrieving your certificate, keep it safe.
