How to Apply for Tala Loan Online

To apply for a Tala loan, open the Tala App and go through the loan application process.

If approved, choose a payment period, then select the “Send my loan” button.

For returning customers, you may reapply for another loan only after you have paid off your previous loan.

New customers need to download the app and apply.

Once you are approved for a loan, it is instantly sent to your MPESA account.

Tala Loan Repayment

You can repay your Tala loan with M-PESA Xpress or via our Paybill 851900.

Use your Tala registered phone number as the account number.

Follow these steps to repay your Tala loan:

  • Go to your Safaricom menu and select M-Pesa.
  • From your M-Pesa menu, select Lipa na M-Pesa.
  • Select the Pay Bill option.
  • Enter business number 851900.
  • Enter your Tala registered phone number as the account number.
  • Enter your payment amount.
  • Enter your M-Pesa PIN.
  • Confirm that all details are correct and press \’OK\’

Your M-Pesa payment confirmation will show you have sent the payment to the account, Tala Mobile.

You will still receive an SMS confirming we have received your payment.

If you repay late, you will be charged a one-time 8% late payment charge on your outstanding balance.

While other lenders impose a late payment charge for every day that you are late, Tala only has a one-time late payment charge, and you’ll be able to apply to borrow again as soon as you have repaid what you owe.

To ensure your credit history is not negatively impacted, please always repay your loans on time.
