Requirements

If you are a non-account holder, you will need to open a domiciliary account with these:

  • Completed (USD) domiciliary account form.
  • 2 (Two) referees.
  • 1 (one) recent passport photograph.
  • A recent utility bill.
  • A copy of your driver’s license or international passport.
  • An issuance fee of ₦1,000 (or its equivalent in dollars).

If you already have a GTBank domiciliary account (USD), you only need these:

  • Completed (USD) domiciliary account form.
  • An issuance fee of ₦1,000 (or its equivalent in dollars).
  • Annual maintenance fee of $10 (or its equivalent in dollars).
  • You will also need to read and accept the terms and conditions.

How to Get GTBank Dollar Card

Here are the ways to apply for and get a GTBank dollar card:

1. Online, via Internet Banking

Fill in the simple online application form.

Just need a few bits of information is needed, and you’ll need to be aged 18 years or over.

2. On Your Mobile (GTWorld)

3. In Branch

Pop into any GTBank branch and the staff will be happy to help.

In busier periods, when staff may not be immediately available, an appointment for a later date will be booked.

Transaction Limits

Here are the transaction limits for the GTBank Dollar MasterCard.

How to Activate GTBank Dollar MasterCard?

Once you get the card, activate it by calling GTCONNECT, after which you can change the PIN.

Ask the customer care rep to direct you to where you can call card services for the activation of your card.

The GTBank card services rep will ask for your bank account number, date of birth, number of accounts on your GTBank profile, and other questions just to confirm that the account truly belongs to you.

The rep will then tell you to wait for 10 or 15 minutes before changing the PIN.

Once you successfully change the PIN of the GTBank Dollar MasterCard, start using it to pay online from Nigeria and anywhere in the world.

How to Fund GTBank Domiciliary Account

You can either fund your GTBank domiciliary account through a deposit or transfer.

1. Deposit

If it is a Dollar domiciliary account, the only currency accepted in the account is the Dollar.

Go to the bank, make the dollar deposit yourself, or someone else makes the deposit on your behalf.

To get the Dollar in Nigeria, when the local currency is Naira, change from Bureau De Change in your locality.

2. Direct Transfer

If you earn in dollars online as a freelancer, blogger, internet, or affiliate marketer, you can use your domiciliary account to receive funds and payments in dollars.

If you have friends and family abroad, they can also fund your domiciliary account with Dollar via a wire transfer.

How to Fund GTBank Dollar Card

Banks in Nigeria no longer allow international transactions on Naira debit cards.

Getting a foreign currency card is the best solution to the spending limit on Naira debit and credit cards.

When you request for a dollar card, GTBank opens a separate ledger account for your MasterCard which you have to fund via internet banking/mobile banking or by calling GTConnect.

Here are the steps to fund GTBank dollar card:

  • Log in to your internet banking dashboard or GTWorld mobile app.
  • Navigate to Account Transfer >> Own Account >> Dom account you want to transfer from >> Dollar card account >> Amount you want to transfer >> Submit.
  • Your domiciliary account will be debited, and your dollar card account will be credited immediately. The entire transfer process takes less than 20 seconds.
