JAMB CAPS Login 2024 (Admission Portal) ▷ Check Status

Candidates seeking admission to universities, polytechnics, colleges of education in Nigeria should know how to login JAMB CAPS with registration number online, without email address, check and accept or reject their admission status.

JAMB Admission Portal

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is the body responsible for administering entrance examinations for tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The JAMB admission portal is the official website where candidates can apply for admission to JAMB-approved institutions.

Once you have logged in to the portal, you will be able to:

  • Check your admission status to see if you have been offered admission to any of the institutions you applied to.
  • Print your admission letter.
  • Pay your acceptance fee if you have accepted your admission.
  • View your admission results to see how you performed in the JAMB examination.
  • Update your profile, such as your contact details and your educational background.

JAMB CAPS Login

The JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) is an admission processing system that is geared towards ensuring quality control, transparency, and making the admission process efficient.

The goal of CAPS is to curb the problem of a candidate having multiple admission.

If this happens, other candidates can take the space that the institution would have offered to another candidate who has been admitted to more than one school.

It’s JAMB’s way of creating an atmosphere where prospective students can be admitted to the school of their choice.

Hence, with your CAPS login, you can see the admission you’ve gained and can reject or accept the provisional admission given to you by any institution.

You can use your JAMB registration number to check your admission status on the JAMB CAPS.

Also, you can check your O level (WAEC or NECO) results on the JAMB CAPS portal.

JAMB CAPS not only automates the process, but some other innovations are also being introduced.

These include:

  • Admissions can be processed in batches and instantaneously, with candidates being able to check their admission status at any point in time on the portal.
  • Market place to enable institutions to source candidates from the pool based on various criteria such as score, state, local government and even gender of the candidates.
  • Opportunities for candidates to confirm provisional admissions, thus eliminating cases of candidates abandoning admissions.
  • The requirement for all awaiting O’level results candidates to upload their results into the JAMB portal before being considered for admission.

Some institutions may not publish the list of candidates admitted into their various programmes on their own portal or notice board.

Admission seekers are advised to check JAMB CAPS to track their admission status continually.

If you mistakenly accepted admission when you have not been admitted by any school yet, then it’s no issue.

However, your admission is gone if you reject it.
