Getting started…

JAMB Regularization

JAMB regularization is compulsory for graduates who gained admission into tertiary institutions without the JAMB registration number or admission letter.

This is usually the case for ND and HND students, pre-degree students and some UTME students who were given admission by their institutions but not by JAMB.

Without JAMB regularization, you cannot register for NYSC mobilization.

NYSC mobilization is the process by which graduates are selected for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.

The NYSC program is a mandatory one-year program for all graduates of Nigerian tertiary institutions.

To qualify for NYSC mobilization, these set of students will have to apply for JAMB regularization.

Once your application is submitted, JAMB will review it and determine whether it should be accepted or rejected.

If your application is accepted, you will be given a JAMB registration number and an admission letter.

You will then be eligible to register for NYSC mobilization.

The official price for the JAMB regularization is ₦‎5,000, for candidates who already have JAMB registration numbers they want to regularize.

For those who regularize afresh, the price is ₦8,500.

Pay the fee online or at any JAMB accredited bank.

JAMB regularization does not have a starting and closing date.

It is a year-round activity, so you can apply for regularization at any time.

However, apply as early as possible, as the process can take some time.

JAMB Regularization Admission Letter

A JAMB regularization admission letter is a document issued by JAMB to graduates who have been granted admission to a tertiary institution but did not have a JAMB registration number or JAMB admission letter at the time of their admission.

The letter serves as proof of admission and allows the graduate to register for NYSC mobilization.

The JAMB regularization admission letter typically includes this information:

  • The graduate’s name.
  • The graduate’s JAMB registration number.
  • The name of the tertiary institution the graduate has been admitted to.
  • The course of study the graduate has been admitted to.
  • The date of admission.
  • The signature of the JAMB registrar.

The JAMB regularization admission letter is a valuable document, so keep it safe.

You will need it to register for NYSC mobilization and to access other benefits that are available to graduates who have been granted JAMB regularization.

If you have lost your JAMB regularization admission letter, contact JAMB to request a duplicate letter.

You will need to provide your JAMB registration number and proof of identity.

Can JAMB Regularization Be Done Twice?

JAMB regularization can be done twice.

Here are the conditions that must be met in order to be eligible for a second regularization:

  • The first condition is that the first regularization must have been rejected by JAMB. This can happen if there were errors in the application or if the applicant did not meet the eligibility requirements.
  • The second condition is that the applicant must provide fresh evidence to support their application. This evidence could include a letter from the tertiary institution confirming that the applicant was admitted, a transcript of the applicant’s academic records, or a copy of the applicant’s national identification number (NIN).

If you meet these conditions, submit a new regularization application to JAMB.

The application process is the same as the first time, and you will need to pay the regularization fee again.

If the second regularization application is approved, you will be issued a new JAMB registration number and admission letter to register for NYSC mobilization.

Conclusion

The duration of JAMB regularization approval by the Joint Admission Matriculation Board is twenty-four (24) hours after consent from your school.

Delay with your JAMB regularization happens when your institution does not forward your indemnity form to the JAMB board on time.

It could also be because of late approval by JAMB.

JAMB regularization does not expire.

After JAMB regularization, you will be given an assigned registration number to use in printing your admission letter (for future reference).

Your JAMB registration number can be used to proceed with your Direct Entry registration, HND program, and NYSC mobilization purpose.
