The SIWES duration period differs among institutions in Nigeria.
1. Universities
Period
At the end of 200, 300, or 400 level of degree programme.

3-6 months
Remark
Students in the preliminary classes and post-graduate students aren’t eligible.
2. Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Technology
Period
At the end of the 1st year of the 2 years ND programme.
Duration
4 months

National Diploma only
3. Colleges of Education
Period
At the end of 2nd year of the 3 years NCE programme.
Duration
4 months
Remark
NCE Technical and other approved courses
Note: The SIWES duration is the time frame for Nigerian I.T students to undergo their training.
If yours is stipulated for 6 months, you must try to complete the full months.
